Minimum Wage and Payroll
In March 2021, Qatar implemented a minimum wage of QAR 1,000 for all workers across different sectors, including domestic employees. Additionally, employers are required to provide QAR 500 per month for housing and QAR 300 per month for food, or offer these benefits in another form.

Working Hours and Overtime
The maximum working hours are 48 hours per week, with 8 hours per day. During Ramadan, the working hours are reduced to 36 hours per week, with 6 hours per day.
Overtime is permitted for up to 2 hours per day and must be compensated at a minimum of 125% of the standard pay.
Vacation Days
According to Article 79 of the Qatar Labor Law, a worker is entitled to the following annual leave:
Three weeks of annual leave if the employee’s service tenure is less than 5 years.
Four weeks of annual leave if the employee’s service tenure exceeds 5 years.
Qatar commemorates 4 public holidays:

Parental Leave and Sick Leave
A female employee who has been employed for at least one full year is entitled to 100% paid maternity leave for 50 days. This period includes both the time before and after delivery, provided that the maternity leave taken after childbirth is no less than 35 days.
Although there is no statutory paternity leave, many companies provide fathers with 3 to 5 days of paid leave.
In Qatar, an employee is entitled to up to 12 weeks of sick leave per year. The first two weeks are paid in full, the following four weeks are paid at half salary, and any additional leave (up to six weeks) is unpaid, provided the employee has completed at least three months of service.

Other Leaves
Muslim workers may be granted leave without pay for up to twenty (20) days to perform Hajj (pilgrimage) once during their service. However, unlike annual leave, Hajj leave is not an entitlement for the employee.
Notice Period
In the case of terminating or resigning from a fixed-term employment contract in Qatar, a 30-day notice period is required.
For indefinite-term employment contracts, a 60-day notice period is stipulated under Qatari labor law
